TaiChi Club
The purpose of this club is to promote "traditional Tai Chi" and "Hua Tuo guided Qi Gong." The main club course features the simple version of 42 styles of traditional Tai Chi, including Pushing Hands for practicing with each other and the use of various kinds of Tai Chi weapons. The characteristic of Tai Chi is to borrow power from others and use it. In other words, in a fight against others, with knowledge of the power’s direction and particular strengths or weaknesses, we can not only dissolve others’ attacks, but also use their power to fight back. About the methodology of our class: first we practice Qi Gong in the beginning, which can make the body's muscles relax and calm the mind down. Once the body and mind are relaxed, we can gradually feel the power of relaxation during the practice of Tai Chi. Relaxing the body and mind is the most important aspect of practicing Tai Chi well.
Location: the class offered by our club will be held on the platform behind Hi Life which is on the fourth floor of the Art and Cultural Center. You can find it by going up the stairs behind Hi Life.

In order to reach this goal, self-cultivation and etiquette are involved, which trains both the archer’s body and mind. Additionally, proper stature and etiquette are also necessary in Kyudo. By conforming to these standards, the archers will undoubtedly come to possess the spirit of teamwork and discipline. The NCCU Kyudo Club was founded in 2006. Chi-Nan Youth Club
The Chi-Nan Youth Club was formed in 1976. For almost 40 years, we have dedicated ourselves to social and educational service. Currently we conduct 3 different service programs: providing long-term and constant English learning sources to students in remote areas by holding camps during every summer and winter vacation; tutoring disadvantaged children in Zhang Jiao village; and helping the Taipei Blood Center hold drives for blood donation twice a semester on NCCU campus.
The Association of Loving Care
We are the Association of Loving Care, a volunteer service club in NCCU. Our mission is to carry out social works, promote the spirit of service, and make the society better by helping each other. There are four service groups and two camps in our association at present, including the Child Academic Counseling Group, Atayal Child and Teenage Academic Counseling Group, Autism Caring Group, Elder Caring Group, Winter Sky Camp (for aboriginal children), and Summer Evergreen Camp (for elders). Come and join us! You won't regret your choice to participate in the happiness of giving.
P.S. Basic Mandarin ability is required to fulfill the service objectives.
Tzu Chi Youth Group
In 1991, more than 20 college students in Taiwan started doing volunteer work at the Tzu Chi hospital and accompanied Master Cheng Yen in visiting the poor. They could also be referred to as the forerunners of the Tzu Chi Youth Group. On May 31, 1992, the Taiwan Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association was officially established. The members of this group are called “compassionate youth”, or in Chinese, Tzu Ching. Today, Tzu Ching groups have been established by college students on campuses all over the world, including in Canada, USA, Argentina, Australia, South Africa, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, and more. Master Cheng Yen hopes that Tzu Ching will carry out Tzu Chi missions during their spare time, and cultivate compassion and humility to get along with all kinds of people.

Second, we join HOTAC (Heart of Taiwan Animal Care) and assist people who live in the countryside or suburbs to neuter their pets or local stray animals. What’s more, we go to elementary schools or junior high schools to teach students about TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) and how to get along with cats and dogs. During winter and summer vacations, we visit the Hualien Animal Protection Association to help clean the environment there.

Hua Xia Chinese Music Club
The Hua Xia Chinese Music Club was founded in March of 1961. The club is called Hua Xia due to its devotion to carry the Chinese culture forward. Now, the club has been going strong for more than 50 years. In the past two years, 2014 and 2015, Hua Xia obtained Advanced Awards in the National Student Music Competition. Hua Xia got the first prize in Advanced Awards in 2015. Nowadays, we are active in developing outside NCCU to grab more performing opportunities. In 2015, our performance at the end of the semester took place in the Guangfu Auditorium of the historic Taipei Zhongshan Hall. Our annual routines are composed of these parts: the ensemble and the teaching class, the small-scale concert, the performance at a semester, and the National Student Music Competition.

Established in 1998 by professor Hsin-Hsin Tsai, the top authority on Chinese opera research, the NCCU Taiwanese Opera Club is the youngest Taiwanese opera troupe in Taiwan and has been a prolific member of Taiwanese opera scene for more than a decade.
The NCCU Taiwanese Opera Club pursues the ideal of “passing the flame of tradition with vernal energy”. Through productions, it wishes to encourage and grant accessibility to younger generations, thereby enhancing popularization of the local traditional art form. So, it can be said that Taiwanese Opera is the one art form that represents Taiwanese culture the most! Want to wear ancient Chinese clothes? To experience the most energetic and native performance in Taiwan? To step into a dramatic world of elegance and oriental culture? To have a different stage on which to perform? Don't be shy! Don't hesitate! Join us now!
Drama club
The NCCU Drama Club gathers those who have a shared interest in drama, and helps us broaden our knowledge in drama through professional teaching and learning from each other. In the process, we will come to love drama more and more, thus devoting ourselves to spreading the beauty of drama. We hope that more students in NCCU will join us.
The form of club classes: Except for the week before and the week of midterms and final exams, we hold club classes once a week. Each class is about 3 hours. We hire external lecturers to teach us on topics including acting, script analysis, theatrical techniques, and theatre administration.
The form of performances: There is a public performance at the end of every semester. For each performance, there is an acting & directing team and a designing team. Each group does their job during the preparatory period, and we negotiate with each other and discuss in the meetings. After many rehearsals, we perform the play onstage.
The characteristics of our club: The NCCU Drama club gathers lots of different people coming from all kinds of departments. With little limitation, the types of our performances and the form of club classes are very free. Our club offers diversity, mobility, and freedom at the same time.

NCCU Jazz Club
Founded in 2011, the NCCU Jazz Club is devoted to bringing jazz music onto the NCCU campus and establishing appreciation of jazz music. Our goals set out since our early years include music listening and practices in a small combo band. The NCCU Big Band, founded after the Jazz Club’s establishment, performed their first concert in the administration building, successfully bringing the audience’s attention to the art of jazz through the form of big band instrumentation. In order to encourage more people to understand and share the joy of jazz music, we run our performances in a practical and approachable manner, making the performance of classics attainable for anyone interested. This year, the NCCU jazz club will diversify the club’s focus with blends of varying elements: for example, fusion jazz. Watch out, because the charms of jazz are surely going to captivate you!
Digital Music Composition Club
Aiming to inspire and cultivate your musical potential, the Digital Music Composition Club offers a vast array of essential knowledge in both producing and performing aspects: For music production, we introduce several types of industry-standard music making software (e.g. Ableton/FL Studio/Pro Tools), guiding you step-by-step to build your own music from scratch. In regard to performing, we discuss the uprising of DJ culture and its technique, and also provide equipment for those who want to experience a DJ performance. The club will occasionally host workshops for our club members to hone their skills and learn from each other. We hope to see music lovers like you join and have fun with us!
