Student service clubs
Chi-Nan Youth Club
The Chi-Nan Youth Club was formed in 1976. For almost 40 years, we have dedicated ourselves to social and educational service. Currently we conduct 3 different service programs: providing long-term and constant English learning sources to students in remote areas by holding camps during every summer and winter vacation; tutoring disadvantaged children in Zhang Jiao village; and helping the Taipei Blood Center hold drives for blood donation twice a semester on NCCU campus.
The Association of Loving Care
We are the Association of Loving Care, a volunteer service club in NCCU. Our mission is to carry out social works, promote the spirit of service, and make the society better by helping each other. There are four service groups and two camps in our association at present, including the Child Academic Counseling Group, Atayal Child and Teenage Academic Counseling Group, Autism Caring Group, Elder Caring Group, Winter Sky Camp (for aboriginal children), and Summer Evergreen Camp (for elders). Come and join us! You won't regret your choice to participate in the happiness of giving.
P.S. Basic Mandarin ability is required to fulfill the service objectives.
Tzu Chi Youth Group
In 1991, more than 20 college students in Taiwan started doing volunteer work at the Tzu Chi hospital and accompanied Master Cheng Yen in visiting the poor. They could also be referred to as the forerunners of the Tzu Chi Youth Group. On May 31, 1992, the Taiwan Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association was officially established. The members of this group are called “compassionate youth”, or in Chinese, Tzu Ching. Today, Tzu Ching groups have been established by college students on campuses all over the world, including in Canada, USA, Argentina, Australia, South Africa, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, and more. Master Cheng Yen hopes that Tzu Ching will carry out Tzu Chi missions during their spare time, and cultivate compassion and humility to get along with all kinds of people.
Seed of Light Club
Want to explore the limit of your ability? Want to know who you are and fulfill your dreams? Then you must join us! We are a group of Christians who join in each other’s joy and sorrow as one family. We find who we are made to be and support each other in the dreams God has put in our hearts. We also have a community transformation program for an aboriginal village in Pindong and mission trips to Ilan. No matter if you’re a believer or not, we welcome you to be a part of this incredibly lovable and passionate family!
New Hope Family
The New Hope Family is a group of NCCU students who enjoy serving and caring for people. We believe that the definition of success is being able to bring happiness to others. Are you willing to join us in serving people while gaining a new attitude toward your own life? The New Hope Family is a united service club consisting of Christians. Besides NCCU, more than 10 universities such as NTU, NTNU, SHU, TNU, and USC have established New Hope Families. Not only do we have service activities at the aforementioned universities, but we also hold fascinating club activities that have miscellaneous themes on every Saturday at 14:30 near MRT Jingmei station. The activities will certainly renew your club experience during your university life. In addition to campus service, our club members also volunteer at the Beauty Life Association, serving different ethnic groups in society.
Location: Taiwan Harmony Friends Church, near MRT Jingmei station
Time: Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
The Life Respect Club
The Life Respect Club organizes many activities to help cats and dogs. First, we take care of stray cats and dogs on our campus. We send them to the hospital when they are sick or injured. Second, we join HOTAC (Heart of Taiwan Animal Care) and assist people who live in the countryside or suburbs to neuter their pets or local stray animals. What’s more, we go to elementary schools or junior high schools to teach students about TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) and how to get along with cats and dogs. During winter and summer vacations, we visit the Hualien Animal Protection Association to help clean the environment there.
