Guidelines for NCCU Undergraduate Student Dormitory Bed Request for Summer Vacation 2023

Application Period: May 23 (Tue) ~ 25 (Thu), divided into three stages. Residents without completing the online application mean waiving their right to a bed assignment.

I.Priority students:

Time: May 23 (Tue) 9am- 4pm

Qualification: The following approved summer stay residents:

  • Assigned in the following semester to the same dorm area as for the summer stay.
  • Currently reside in the assigned area as for the summer stay.

Methods:

For a room A. The priority is as follows:

First priority: Student who is assigned in the following semester to room A has the first priority to reside in that room for the summer stay.

Second priority: Student who is currently reside in the room A has the second priority to reside in that room for the summer stay.

The applicants MUST log in the system and make personal confirmation. Otherwise, the beds will be made available to other applicants who register on the following day. When a student who is assigned in room A in the following semester and another student who is currently living in room A have applied for summer stay, the students who are assigned in the following semester will have the priority to confirm the beds.

The student who is currently living in room A will NOT be able to enter the system to select beds on the first day.

 

II.Online request and system assignment

Time: May 24 (Wed) 9am- 4pm

Qualification: Approved summer stay residents.

Methods:

  • 9am- 4pm: Online group registration and selection.
  • 4pm- 6pm: System shuts down for assignment.
  • After 6pm: Assignment completed and open for result search.
  1. Building a Team:

(1) Multiple members:

  • A team should have 2-4 members.
  • The maximum number of team members should not exceed the number of beds in a given room with the maximum number of beds available on that day.
  • A team should have a leader. All team members must complete an online confirmation so that the leader can make the room request. Team members don’t need to reconfirm the leader’s request.

(2) Individual: Individual applicants can register on their own and make a room request.

  1. Number of Requests and Preference Categories:
  • Preferences are divided into 5 categories: No Request, Dorm Area, Bed Number, Floor and Room Number.
  • A team or an individual can make up to 10 A request in a prior category will have a higher chance to obtain an assignment. (For example, a request for No Request will have a higher chance for assignment than a request for a Room Number.)
  1. Assignment Method:

  The system will give every team and person a random number and assign rooms in numeric order.

 

 III.Filling Vacancies

Time: May 25 (Thu) 9am- 4pm

Qualification: Approved residents without being assigned a bed for the previous two stages.

Methods: Approved residents without being assigned a bed should submit an online request to secure an available bed.

 

IV.Notes:

  1. Available areas for 2023 summer stay:
  • Female: 1st~3rd Floor of JhuangJing Dormitory 1 & 1st ~2nd Floor of JhuangJing Dormitory 9 & 3rd floor of Building D of ZihCiang Dormitory 10 (including 14 beds in single-occupancy rooms and 20 beds in double-occupancy rooms)
  • Male: JhuangJing Dormitory 2 & 3, 3rd floor of Building C of ZihCiang Dormitory 10 (including 8 beds in single-occupancy rooms and 28 beds in double-occupancy rooms)
  • All beds are reserved for summer stay residents, except for those for assigned for residence extension and credit programs.
  1. The system provides information of residents’ sleeping habits. Please choose roommates of similar sleeping habits when making a room request to avoid any unnecessary disturbances or inconvenience.
