Mr Liu Fung Tak Public Service Award

The Mr. Liao Fengde Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 (Republic of China 98) with a donation from Yang Zhengli, an alumnus of the Department of Business Administration and senior student of Junbao Electronics Industry Co., Ltd. It is divided into three fields: academic research, literary and artistic creation, and public service.
Among them, the Public Service Award was established to commemorate Mr. Liao Fengde’s contribution to extracurricular activities and public service promotion, and also to encourage NCCU students who devote themselves to public service.

Mr. Liao Fengde (1951-2008) is an alumnus of the School of Journalism (Master) and the School of History (Ph.D.). After graduation, he served as a part-time associate professor in the Department of History and served in the extracurricular activities group. In addition, he was also engaged in literary and artistic creation, focusing on history. Mainly essays and short stories.
During his tenure in the Extracurricular Activities Group, Mr. Liao Fengde cared deeply for his classmates, devoted himself to assisting student associations in handling affairs and solving problems, and encouraged the establishment of school-wide publications and magazines.

Applications for the Mr. Liu Fung-tak Public Service Award are open every March, and around May 10, Mr. Liu Fung-tak’s family will come to the school to present the awards and commendations.
The awards include individual awards and group awards. Later, a documentary award was added in the sixth session in 2014. It is hoped that through this award, students can use their talents in film shooting and editing to show the service process and content through pictures.
