Guidelines for NCCU Undergraduate Student Dormitory Application for 2015 Summer Vacation

I. Application Period:   May 7 (Thu), 2015~May 13 (Wed), 2015.

II. Application methods

i. Summer credit program students from all departments and centers: please apply and pay dorm fees to the relevant department or center office.All the offices must submit their dorm     applications before May 13 (Wed), 2015 to the Student Housing Service Section for dorm assignment.

ii.Undergraduate students: please proceed with online application. Path: 政大首頁→iNCCU→校園資訊系統→校務系統WEB版→學生資訊系統→資訊服務→學生宿舍申請→學士班暑假宿舍申請。

III. Eligibility and Priorities:

i. Summer credit program students who need to apply for a dorm room from all departments and research centers.

ii.Students currently (2015 spring semester) residing and approved undergraduate dorm applicants (for 2015 fall semester).

iii.Other undergraduate students and 2015 graduates (including graduation-delaying seniors).

IV. Summer residence period:

i. Summer credit program students: please contact the department or center office for your allotted time of stay.

ii. Students currently (2015 spring semester) residing in the dorms: June 30 (Tue), 2015 to 12:00 p.m. (noon) August 31 (Mon), 2015.

iii. Students not currently (2015 spring semester) residing in the dorms: after 12:00 p.m. July 1 (Wed), 2015 to 12:00 p.m. (noon) August 31 (Mon), 2015.

V. Dorm Assignment and payment method:

i. Summer credit program students: to be assigned by the Student Housing Service Section.

ii. Currently (2015 spring semester) residing students and approved undergraduate dorm applicants (for 2015 fall semester), reserving estimated beds: 1250 (350 for males and 900 for females). Other undergraduate students and 2015 graduates (including graduation-delaying seniors), reserving estimated beds: 40 (15 for males and 25 for females).

1. Bed selection: May 26 (Tue) to May 28 (Thu), 2015. Detailed procedures will be announced later.

2. Deadline and methods of payment: June 4 (Thu) to June 10 (Wed), 2015. Please download the bill of “Summer Dorm” (暑宿費) on the First Bank webpage and pay the stipulated fee. Any late payment will lead to the cancellation of the dorm assignment and such applicants must move out of the dorm before 15:00 June 30 (Tue), 2015. iii. If there are more applicants than beds at the disposal of the Student Housing Service Section, assignment will be decided by computer-generated lottery-drawing.

VI. Fees and Refunds:

i. Summer credit program students are required to pay 1/2 of the dorm fee for the Spring Semester of 2015. Summer credit program students are required to apply for a refund at the relevant department or center office before June 30 (Tue), 2015. Late applications are not accepted.

ii. Undergraduate students are required to pay 1/2 of the dorm fee for the Spring Semester of 2015 and NTD 1000 deposit. Standards for fees can be found at the following: http://osa.nccu.edu.tw/en/student-housing-service/dormitory-room-fee

iii. Undergraduate students who have paid for the summer stay and decide to cancel the dorm assignment should apply for a refund and submit their payment receipts to the Student Housing Service Section before June 30 (Tue), 2015. Late applications are not accepted.

VII. Moving-out inspections

Please move out of your assigned dorm no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) August 31 (Mon), 2015 (dorm residents approved for the 2015 Fall Semester can move into the newly assigned dorm room on the afternoon of the aforesaid date) and make sure it is clean. Contact the Service Desk in your residence hall for dorm room inspection. All remaining personal belongings found after the deadline will be disposed of. The cost of the disposal will be deducted from the dorm deposit and any costs in excess of the deposit will be charged to the responsible resident.

VIII. Dorm Principles:

i. In order to enhance energy saving, those dorms to be used for summer stay will be located in certain areas. Dorms designated for summer stay are tentatively JhuangJing Dormitory 1 and 6 and 7 for female applicants, JhuangJing Dormitory 2 and 3 and 3 Floor of Building A of ZihCiang Dormitory 10 (including 14 single rooms and 26 double rooms) for male applicants. The Student Housing Service Section will make adjustments if deemed necessary.

ii.All the students for summer residence are required to reside in their assigned rooms. Because renovating, JhuangJing Dormitory 9 will not be available in summer stay.

IX. Further information:

i. Students who have not applied for summer dorms and have not paid the required fee while continuing to reside in the dorm during the summer vacation will be required to pay the fee and to move out of the dorm immediately without the right of appeal when they are found out. Additional punishments will be imposed in accord with the relevant NCCU regulations.

ii. 2015 graduates or graduation-delaying seniors who have graduated can still use their NCCU student ID for dorm security until the end of August or until their rescheduled resident deadline.
